Ms. Nguyen Thi Nau's family lives in Bich Loc Trieu village, Trieu Long commune, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province and is the most difficult and unhappy Agent Orange victim family in this poor village. A lonely 77-year-old woman relies on a meager allowance of VND 810,000 / month to support 2 severely mentally ill children.
Being alone and having one foot in the grave situation, it seemed that having a son and a daughter would enjoy happiness until the end of life. But the Agent Orange caused her family to suffer tragedy by heartlessly bringing both of her children into mental illness. Especially the son, who suffers from severe schizophrenia, often wanders and used to get lost in Saigon. After found and brought him back, she was forced to let him live in a dark locked room and all activities are in an area of 1-2 m² which is humid and unhygienic.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nau and 2 children with mental illness.
House is rickety, ramshackle, leaky and moldy, causing the wall to be seriously damaged and in danger of collapsing at any time. An old woman with a small land but still barren, cannot plant anything. Almost nothing in the house is intact. When asked, Nau choked out her wish to have a proper toilet and water pipes so that she could wash up her mentally ill son. Also the family had no more requests. The old lady's wish made the listener pitifully shed tears.
