NEW ROAD ROUTES ARE GOING TO BE BUILT IN THE EAST AREA, TENS OF THOUSANDS OF SAIGON RESIDENTS WILL BENEFIT

Recently, the People's Committee of HCMC approved the project of upgrading and expanding Pham Van Bach Street, Tan Binh District - Go Vap District. This decision adds an item which is the expansion of about 659 meters long of Tan Son Road (from Golf Course Gate to Quang Trung Street) from 2 lanes to 4 lanes to synchronize 4 lanes throughout the whole route.

The section of Nguyen Sy Sach street connecting with Pham Van Bach street (road, drainage, trees, lighting), which is about 37 meters long and 18.5 meters wide, is going to be built. They will add traffic signal system at Pham Van Bach - Tran Thai Tong junction, Pham Van Bach - Tan Son junction, Pham Van Bach - Nguyen Sy Sach junction and Pham Van Bach - Nhanh 5 junction - Huynh Van Nghe intersection. Additional installation of railings on the shore of Hy Vong canal.

To calculate the compensation and support of the project of upgrading and expanding Nguyen Cuu Phu road, Tan Tao A Ward, Binh Tan District, People's Committee of HCMC has approved the land price's adjusted coefficient at the adjacent of Provincial Road 10's front (section from National Highway 1A to Tan Tao Bridge) and Nguyen Cuu Phu road's front (House No. 1411B and 1413 Provincial Road 10), which is 3,8567.

At the same time, People's Committee of HCMC has approved the proposal to invest in the project of upgrading and expanding Nguyen Duy Trinh road (section from road No. 990 to Ring road 2's intersection) in District 9 in the form of public-private partnerships (BT contracts) with total investment of 737 billion VND.

The expansion of Nguyen Duy Trinh road aims to reduce congestion and traffic accidents, improves the traffic system in the area to meet the needs of urban development along the expressway, improves environmental sanitation conditions and urban landscapes. The project is expected to be implemented from 2018 to 2020.

People's Committee of HCMC has just decided to invest in upgrading and expanding To Ngoc Van (Thu Duc) to 30 meters wide. Although it is only 3 kilometres long, but this route plays an important role in connecting Tan Son Nhat airport with the area of Tan Binh, Go Vap, Binh Thanh and Thu Duc districts.

It is known that the project to upgrade and expand To Ngoc Van road to 30 meters wide has been approved by  People's Committee of HCMC since early 2017, is going to be implemented in the near future and will be completed in 2020. Upon completion, this route is going to directly connect Pham Van Dong Boulevard with Thu Duc intersection, where the metro station in the district central is being built.

Prior to that, the People's Committee of HCMC also assigned the Department of Planning and Architecture to propose functional zones of Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in District 1 and to add water fountains and lighting systems. This Department also has to research to adjust and appropriately arrange the sanitary areas, trash cans, benches, vending machines, street food areas, car park etc in order to serve visitors for the big events of the city which will be crowded with people.

Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City is also required to study to connect Nguyen Hue pedestrian street's overall space with the park in front of the City's Theatre House and Le Loi street, connect the streets of Nguyen Hue - Ton Duc Thang - Ham Nghi.

To prepare for upgrading and renovating Nguyen Hue Street (the section from Le Loi Street to Bach Dang wharf Park), the People's Committee of HCMC also asked Nguyen Hue pedestrian Street Management Department to report on the operation of this pedestrian street after more than 3 years into operation.
