OPENING CEREMONY OF THE SCC OPEN OF FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT IV - 2018

The Opening Ceremony of SCC Open of Football Tournament IV – 2018 took place in Trọng Phát Football Pitch Venue (Dist. 2).

The Sports Festival is an annual event hosted by Saigon Construction Corporation (SCC), with large and enthusiastic participants including managers and employees of the company. Men’s mini football tournament are among sports that draw most attention.

8 teams are signed up for the SCC Open of Football Tournament IV - 2018: SCCI FC, PhoDong FC, SMC (Saigon), SMC (Long An), VietUnion, SCQC3 (PD), DKRA VN, FDC (Sol Villas).

Football matches take place from 20th to 28th December 2018, when 8 teams are divided into 2 groups and play in a round-robin format. The winner and runner-up of each group advance to the semi-finals, which take place on 09th January 2019. The final and award ceremony are scheduled on 10th January 2019.
The first two matches of Matchday 1st took place before the opening ceremony on 20th December 2018. Results: SMC (Long An) comfortably won 1 – 0 against SCCI FC, while VietUnion and SCQC3 (PD) played to a 4 – 4 draw in a thrilling match.

After the opening ceremony, Matchday 1st continued with matches among PhoDong FC, SMC (Saigon), DKRA VN, and FDC (Sol Villas). Results: PhoDong FC beat DKRA VN with an easy 3 – 0 win and took the top position of Group A, SMC (Saigon) became leader of Group B after their emphatic 7 – 0 win against FDC (Sol Villas).
Matchday 2nd occurred on 21 December 2018 with many surprising results. Group A’s results: SMC (Long An) won 2 – 0 against DKRA VN and retained their position at top of Group A, PhoDong FC and SCCI FC were respectively ranked second and third after their 1 – 1 draw. In Group B, FDC (Sol Villas) and VietUnion played an exciting match with many goals from both sides and ended the match with a 4 – 3 score, SMC (Saigon) continued their flying form with an emphatic 10 – 2 win against SCQC3 (PD). According to many supporters, SMC (Saigon) is the top contender for this year championship.

Matchday 3rd takes place on 28 December 2018 in Trọng Phát Football Pitch Venue (Dist. 2).
